Ukrainian drone attack causes massive explosion in Tver region

A major drone incursion by Ukraine on Wednesday targeted an arms depot in the Tver region, resulting in a massive blast and the subsequent evacuation of a town. Raw videos on social media depicted fireballs and multiple detonations over a lake 240 miles west of Moscow.

Instruments designed to measure heat picked up very high temperatures—so high that they could only have been generated by a heat source about 14 sq km in size if found on the earth’s surface. Even instruments designed to detect earthquakes reported what seemed to have been a small quake.

Yuri Podolyaka, a pro-Russian military blogger, reported that the enemy attacked and destroyed an ammunition depot near Toropets city, and everything that could be ignited was on fire. Tver governor Igor Rudenya said that the Ukrainian drones were shot down and a fire occurred, although he did not elaborate on the reason.

A source in Ukraine’s SBU state security service said the attack struck a missile and artillery ammunition depot. However, there has been confusion concerning the people, but there is happy news that there has not been any loss of life. After some Russian commentators complained about organizational chair failure, we were seemingly unprepared for such an attack on the facility.
