Vivek Ramaswamy has spoken about his recent departure from the Department of Government Efficiency headed by Elon Musk, which he says was by mutual consent and without any bad blood. The Indian-American entrepreneur explained that both sides were after “complementary approaches” with Musk focusing on the technological aspects while Ramaswamy himself was more into legislation.
DOGE, inspired by an idea from former President Donald Trump, hopes to slim down federal spending, reduce regulations, and reshape executive branch agencies. The Musk strategy is technological, entailing data mining, while Ramaswamy intends to work his way through the courts, changing things within constitutional limits.
PRESSED AS TO WHETHER MUSK HAD FIRED HIM, Ramaswamy explained, in an interview with Fox News, “No. We had a mutual discussion. And I think that I wish him well.” He complimented Musk’s capabilities: “There’s no better person to lead a technology-driven approach than Elon Musk,” but added they were taking somewhat different-but-complementary approaches. Ramaswamy spoke of his concentration on a constitutional legislative framework, as opposed to a more technology-centered approach.
He further explained that such constitutional revival cannot be done by the federal government alone. “It’s done through federalism where states also lead the way,” he said.
Ramaswamy denied any rumors of a fallout with Musk, describing their joint effort as “divide and conquer” in furthering their common goal to reform governance. “This isn’t a one-man show. We’re on the same page, and I wish him well,” he said, praising Musk’s leadership.
In the interview, Ramaswamy teased a forthcoming political move, signaling a gubernatorial bid in Ohio. “I’m pursuing elected office very shortly. An announcement is coming soon,” he said, after running against and subsequently endorsing a Republican presidential primary opponent of Trump’s.
Though he is done with DOGE, the man has expressed his commitment toward constitutional governance and federal reform. “It’s not just done through the federal government; it’s done through federalism where states also lead the way,” he said.
He further went ahead to use the opportunity and assail the Democratic Party for abandonment of economic issues in favor of the “woke” ideologies. The meritocracy deserved to be celebrated more rather than the DEI policies, now becoming exclusionary in nature, he explained.
Ramaswamy reflected upon Trump’s leading days and lauded how he quickly moved on Immigration Merit-based Policies and attempted tearing down federal Bureaucracy.
