President-elect Donald Trump’s appointee, Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister, has withdrawn his nomination to serve as the Administrator of the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), citing his continued dedication to community projects.
Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister withdrew his nomination to be President-elect Donald Trump’s choice for Administrator of the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), citing continued devotion to his community projects. Chronister stated there is “more work to be done” for netizens in the county.
“Over the past few days, as the gravity of this very important responsibility set in, I’ve concluded that I must respectfully withdraw from consideration. There is more work to be done for the citizens of Hillsborough County and many initiatives I am committed to fulfilling,” the Sheriff added. Chronister promised to stay sheriff and thanked for the nomination.
Chronister has been a local lawman for nearly three decades, but he lacks any experience with the sorts of international operations the DEA is responsible for.
When Trump announced his name, DEA officers were shocked while speaking to the New York Times, saying they had never heard of him.
