Woman arrested for allegedly killing and dismembering mother

A woman has been arrested in shocking allegations of murdering her mother and dismembering her body in the United States. The 32-year-old suspect, Torilena May Fields, was taken into custody after being charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and obstructing governmental operations in connection with her mother, Trudy Fields’ death.

Reportedly, she stabbed her mother multiple times and shot her, and is also accused of torturing and killing a dog. Authorities say that charges against her could be expanded as the investigation develops.

According to police information, the incident came to light when a worker employed to renovate Trudy Fields’ home arrived and did not find any sign of the homeowner. However, he did find a dismembered body in the backyard, which he at first believed belonged to Trudy Fields. He immediately called the Kentucky State Police.

When police arrived, they found one woman’s body on a mattress smeared with blood, and they saw a second mattress that appeared to have been pulled to the back of the home. Police said they met resistance when they attempted to speak to another woman inside, which prompted them to get search warrants.

An arrest citation written by KSP Trooper David Jones states,

“Units responded and found a dead female in the backyard. We tried to contact somebody at the house, but it was locked up. We set up a perimeter and eventually obtained a search warrant for the residence.”

Inside the house, the police found Torilena Fields alone. Fields was said to have disobeyed several orders to come out of the house, after which the police forcibly took her out. The police later discovered dismembered body parts inside a folded mattress. Fields was also said to be found with blood dripping on her face, hands, and clothes. A stainless steel pot contained what seemed to be body parts cooked in the house.

The worker who found the body informed police that Fields had been on the property before, becoming confrontational and “casting spells.” At the time of her arrest, Fields was considered to be under the influence of drugs. She has been charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, and torture of a dog or cat. Fields is housed at the Bourbon County Detention Center under a $1.5 million bond.
