Zelenskyy criticizes US silence after Russian attack kills 12

Ukraine was overnight heavily attacked by Russia, who fired 298 drones and 69 missiles in a simultaneous attack. 12 civilians were killed, including three children, according to Ukrainian officials

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has condemned the international community after Russia’s huge overnight air raid on the nation. Zelenskyy criticized the US, stating America’s silence was emboldening Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“America’s silence, and the world’s silence, only incite Putin,” Zelensky wrote in a social media update following the overnight attacks that killed a minimum of 12 individuals. Zelenskyy, in his update, also requested that the international community sanction Russia harder. Every such Russian terrorist attack is enough reason for new sanctions,” he added.

“Determination is needed now — the determination of the United States, the determination of the countries of Europe, and all the world who desire peace.” Overnight, Ukraine was brutally attacked with 298 drones and 69 missiles fired in a single, coordinated attack. According to Ukrainian officials, 12 civilians, including three children, were killed and 38 were wounded.

Last night’s attack comprised 250 drones and 14 ballistic missiles, wounding at least 15 individuals. Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Mariana Betsa said three of the children who died were siblings from the Zhytomyr region, which is located to the west of Kyiv: Stanislav (8), Tamara (12), and Roman (17).

Kyiv and 11 other regions were targeted. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said it was a “massive” attack and asked people to seek shelter.
